An experiment of using light as a medium to express engagement. The lighting animation will be triggered when users engage with the piece by making sound.
Project Developments
Brainstorming
The project is inspired by Mary Corse: A Survey In Light in its form and light quality. I first started brainstorming different senses that could be the most engaging in space besides vision.
Concept Development & Proposal
The project uses light as an art medium to transform and express the motion of water.
Material and Light Effect Testing
Throughout the design process, transparent materials in various shapes and forms, light sources and various kinds of liquid were tested.
The project was initially proposed as three white "breathable" canvases embedded with addressable LEDs hidden behind and eventually iterated as the final installation.
